Dan and Blair----I dare to DAIR!!

God, to think only a few months ago when I was recapping every episode of every show I watch, I said in in my gossip girl recap that I wanted to see new dynamics aka Dan and Blair. The writers have answered my prayers.

Now I want to explain myself first Chuck and Blair are my GG OTP, I know that they will ultimately end up together when the show is said and done. But with that being said, Dan and Blair are breathing new life into Gossip Girl, I mean for the last couple of weeks their story has been the only one I'm interested in. The business story is boring, I hate Serena (she is just so all about herself, ex: look at her relationship with Eric or lack thereof) Nate has been nonexistent since he decided he was done with Serena (even though I am now liking where his storyline is going with Raina).



Before last season, I've always thought of Dan and Blair in an AU way, because Chuck and Blair could do no wrong at the time. Then the Jack/Blair/Chuck business deal thing happened and then he slept with that raccoon-ed skank Jenny Humphrey. Both things extremely unforgivable at least in tv show time for her to forgive him as soon as she did. Dan and Blair have become my beacon of hope for Gossip Girl's renaissance. The show was starting to become a chore to watch, beginning of this season Blair was the only reason that I was tuning in.

For Blair for the first three seasons, her love life has pretty much revolved around Chuck and it's not that I don't love them together, I do, it's just that I love Blair more. She needs to find herself outside of Chuck because that relationship is one that is all-consuming. I believe that if Blair were to embark on a relationship with Dan, that she could do just that, find herself. It would be a win-win for both characters, Dan is starting to refocus on his writing all because Blair pointed out to him that his writing contributions have been lacking. Blair took Dan's words to heart when he told her she should go into a career that involves fashion because she is a Dictator of Taste. I think Dan will help Blair mature more, that was a frustration that I had with the writing last season when Blair went to NYU and was trying to rule the school. I think ultimately this relationship whether it remain platonic or turn into something more will help these two characters grow into the people that they are meant to become.

Dan and Blair are pure magic right now Penn and Leighton just have such amazing chemistry. I don't really care where the writers choose to take them whether it be romance or they just become great friends. Okay maybe I do want a relationship, just because with both Dan and Blair their main relationships have always gone back to Serena and Chuck respectively. These two have a lot in common: movies, and education focused. Every season I have loved their scenes together and I like the slow build that we have gotten to this particular relationship. The build-up to their relationship is quite believable look at how long it has taken them to admit they are friends. Their banter just works. I just want to continue to get scenes with them, so I'm going to say it GG writers----- I DARE TO DAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
