Misfits (Spoilers)
I f*cking love this show, I had been putting off watching it until at least the second season was over and then i saw some clips of Alisha and Future!Simon, then decided I couldn't wait any longer. So take one lazy Saturday and I was able to watch the entire series up until the current episode, and let's just say the rest is history. I love the whole setup, the storyline and the fact that they don't mean to get dragged into the freaky shit that surrounds them. Each episode i couldn't wait to see, the anticipation just killed me. I have watched the entire series twice and forced my sister to watch it as well, and got her hooked. I can't believe that I have to wait a whole year for new episodes and fight out what happened to my favorite delinquents.
My favorite character would have to be Nathan, followed closely by Simon. I love Nathan, he may be a total jerk a majority of the time, but he does have a good heart. HE's freaking fantastic, pretty much every scene he is in he somehow manages to put a smile on my face. I love him and kelly, whether they just stay friends or move on to something more. there relationship has some great qualities, they can be honest with each other, mostly. I still think that Nathan still likes her in a more than friends way, so I am going to hold out hope for them to be together. Now because of the christmas special i am afraid that he is going to stick with this marnie chick, i really don't want that to happen. I'd rather see him alone and up to no good.
I have loved Simon since the beginning pretty much because he is the underdog, I find him to be so interesting. He's just a lonely dude, trying to fit in. I must say that his power does look painful to go through. Simon is such a sweetheart and totally can't wait for him to become the confident badass that we all know he is. Simon is just constantly looking out for the gang, what's best for them even if they don't see that yet. I mean even with future!Simon and how he came back to make sure that certain things had to happen a certain way, so that they could make it. Since Simon has started to come more and more out of his shell, I just love that he smiles more and jokes with the other members of the gang. Especially Alisha in the Christmas episode but more on that later.
I really like Alisha, i think her power totally sucks, but yet it's going to make her and Simon's romance an interesting story arch. I understand why she gave up her power in the Christmas Special, she wanted to be able to really be with Simon. But then when that Jesus dude used her power on her, I think she understood what can happen when the power that was given to you ends up in the wrong hands, how it can be used for evil purposes. That because she had the power first and learned how it worked as well as the fact that when you do use it the other person doesn't remember it. I really just love her character, she so badly wants to make things work with Simon.
Simon and Alisha, I truly love these two together, they are a completely unconventional couple that probably would not have gotten together if they weren't in the circumstances that they are in. That's why I find the fact that they get together so wonderful because those are my favorite kinds of relationships, for example look at Nathan and Haley, if lucas wouldn't have joined the basketball team they wouldn't have gotten together. Well anyway these two just have some kind of magic about them that tends to be in any couple that I end up shipping. I can't wait for the third series and to find out how their relationship will continue to grow and develop, as they continue to grow as people and a couple and into their responsibilities as "heroes" if thats where the writers choose to take this group.
This show has easily gotten into my top ten tv shows of all-time, it's just so fantastic and dark, funny and serious, and I cannot wait until I can buy it on dvd. I recommend this to anyone who loves a good show with witty dialogue, good story telling and just looking for a good time in a television show.
